Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Inclusion at Chubb is a strategy that targets all branch managers through an LGBT-inclusion education program to create systemic change throughout the organization. The Gay and Lesbian Employee Network (GLEN), formed in 1996 and strongly supported by senior management, acts as an internal advisory board to the company and works closely with the Chubb benefits department to review all internal employee policies and benefit packages. The network also encourages straight allies to attend LGBT-focused events and educate Chubb employees at all levels.
Excerpts of this practice have been published in 2009 in Building LGBT-Inclusive Workplaces: Engaging Organizations and Individuals in Change and Supporting LGBT Inclusion: A How-To Guide for Organizations and Individuals; and in 2007 in Making Change: LGBT Inclusion—Implementing Policies, Programs, and Practices.
