Deborah Gillis leads Catalyst's Toronto and Western Region offices and membership development in North America. She is charged with developing and implementing strategies to build Catalyst’s presence in Canada and expansion in the United States. She was appointed in August 2006 to lead the Canadian office and was named to her current role in March 2008. Ms. Gillis is responsible for managing relationships with Catalyst members in Canada and the United States, speaking to corporate audiences about Catalyst’s research, and providing strategic advice to member companies. She regularly addresses groups of senior leaders in a variety of business, academic, and public policy venues and is frequently quoted in media outlets on issues related to women in business.

Ms. Gillis has been advising senior leaders in the public and private sectors on human capital and policy issues for 20 years. Prior to joining Catalyst, she held leadership roles in two global professional services firms and senior management roles with the Governments of Ontario and Nova Scotia. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from York University in Toronto.
