Summary of Responsibilities

The Corporate Practice Research team seeks a dedicated scholar on annual part-time appointment to support research efforts examining organizational policies and practices for advancing women and creating inclusive work environments. The Research Fellow contributes to project team activities, including managing data sets, conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and writing summaries of research findings.

Essential Functions

  • Participates in design of research methodology, including drafting of interview and focus group protocols or other project materials.

  • Collaborates with team in managing and maintaining data sets, including verifying and ensuring data integrity.

  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses, synthesizes findings, and summarizes results.

  • Conducts in-depth literature reviews; annotates and summarizes articles.

  • Drafts sections of reports and working papers as well as presentation materials for internal and external audiences.

  • Participates in relevant conference calls and group meetings related to Center activities and/or agenda.

  • Assists Corporate Practice Research team with project work as available and applicable.

  • Applies creative problem-solving and analytical skills to research projects.

  • Personal computer literacy in a networked environment with a Windows base. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to use statistical software, including SPSS and NVivo, to prepare, manage, and manipulate data for inferential statistical testing.

  • Ability to juggle multiple project responsibilities and meet deadlines.

  • Functions effectively in a team-based, virtual working environment, as well as independently.

  • Demonstrates knowledge in a topic area or areas related to Catalyst’s work.

Education and Experience Requirements

This position requires an MA or MS (or equivalent), preferably in social science, social work, psychology, business, or public administration/public policy. PhD students and post-doctoral candidates are encouraged to apply. Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative methods and/or qualitative methods and demonstrated intermediate knowledge of statistical software such as SPSS/SAS/NVivo required (advanced coursework in methods and statistics).
