Today’s business climate is definitively not business as usual. The drive to recruit and retain diverse talent has taken on more urgency in light of the Eurozone crisis and global economic downturn. The looming labor shortage and need for growth in Europe render the advancement of top talent more critical than ever.
Change involves addressing deep-seated biases—societal, systemic, unconscious—and refreshing the dialogue around them. At Catalyst, our focus is on actual experience and insight, which may or may not support broader assumptions or existing policies and programs.
We offer a mix of member opportunities and events to get to the crux of how to create a diverse, inclusive workplace:
- Europe Events: Catalyst Europe convenes high-caliber regional in-person and virtual events throughout the year for our members and engaged professionals. We are eager to involve and showcase the thoughtful and innovative insights of our members. Contact us to learn about Regional Learning Hubs, Leader’s Forums, Catalyst Connects, Live Q&A webinars, Member Roundtables and other opportunities.
- Strategic-Focused Intervention Sessions (SFIS): One of our most popular offerings, the SFIS offers tailored, strategic input on any issue in the here-and-now. The SFI is as flexible as it as efficient.
- Master Class: Building on Catalyst research, we work with teams on a given theme—e.g. navigating the unwritten rules of the workplace, or understanding the differences between mentoring and sponsorship—and develop practical tips that put our findings into practice.
New Chair of Catalyst Europe Advisory Board
Eileen Taylor, Chief Executive Officer, DB UK Bank Limited, is now Chair of the Catalyst Europe Advisory Board (CEAB), an exceptional group of senior leaders that helps direct Catalyst’s energy and resources most effectively in Europe. Eileen joined the CEAB in March 2009, when she was Managing Director and Global Head of Diversity for Deutsche Bank, where she was responsible for the bank’s diversity strategy, including an acclaimed program focused on executive sponsorship of high-potential women. Since joining the CEAB, she has shown passion, commitment, and a keen eye for strategic opportunities for Catalyst’s growth in Europe. Eileen is currently based in London, and she has also worked in New York, Tokyo, and Singapore.
Catalyst Represents in Spain
On 17 October, Pascale Marcou, Catalyst Ambassador for the Latin Region, joined the Asociación de Mujeres para el Diálogo y la Educación (MDE), an organization that promotes the respect of human rights, at the Premios Solidarios MDE 2014 in Madrid to celebrate people and organizations that work to create equal opportunties for women and men. Last year, Catalyst received the prize for the category "La Institución más comprometida con la mujer," and this year Ms. Marcou was delighted to pass the award to Teresa Palahí, Presidenta del Observatorio y Vicepresidenta de la ONCE (Observatorio de Igualdad de Oportunidades de la ONCE y su Fundación).
