Ellen Parlapiano joined Catalyst in March 2013 as the organization’s Communications Manager. In her role, she manages communications and media in the United States, and provides communications support on selected global projects.
Ms. Parlapiano brings a unique background to Catalyst, as an award-winning journalist specializing in women and business. She was a Contributing Editor at Family Circle magazine, where she created regular features on entrepreneurship, nonprofits and inspirational women. Ms. Parlapiano has also had her work featured in other publications including Working Mother and Redbook. She also served as an editor for Women’s Day special interest publications. Ms. Parlapiano is the co-author of Momprenuers: A Mother’s Practical Step-by-Step Guide to Work-at-Home Success and co-founder of MompreneursOnline.com, a leading website for mom entrepreneurs. She is responsible for directing the editorial content and PR/marketing strategy for the website. Ms. Parlapiano’s work has landed her several television spots as an expert.
Her writing and reporting awards include the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Media Award and the Outstanding Service Article Award from the American Society of Journalists and Authors. Ms. Parlapiano holds a BA in English from Fordham University.
