For a woman colleague of Gerald Lema, Chairman and President, Japan, Baxter International Inc., and member of Catalyst’s Board of Directors, it was the thought of relocating her family from Australia to Shanghai. With his help and her company’s full support, she ultimately spent three rewarding years in China. In Mr. Lema’s words, “We as a company saw her as someone we wanted to invest [in] for the long term.”
