NEW YORK (August 26, 2013)—Catalyst announces the appointment of Sibylle Rupprecht as Executive Director, Catalyst Europe AG, and member of its Catalyst Europe Advisory Board. Based in Geneva, Ms. Rupprecht leads Catalyst’s work in Europe with its expanding community of more than 100 member companies committed to creating inclusive workplaces that leverage the talent and expertise of both women and men.
With over 600 member companies worldwide, Catalyst is the leading global nonprofit organization working to expand opportunities for women and business. Through its research, events, best practices and solution-based tools, consulting services and engaged community, Catalyst Europe empowers corporate members to drive the change that will ultimately expand the pool of top candidates available to companies in Europe.
Ms. Rupprecht joins Catalyst after eight years as Director General at International Road Federation (IRF), a global advocacy organisation linking public and private entities committed to infrastructure development. Her work included building strategic relationships while developing and executing a strategy for growing and engaging IRF’s membership. She oversaw its day-to-day operations, including its subsidiary offices in Brussels and India, as well as partnership opportunities with organisations including the EU, UN agencies, development banks and international NGOs.
Prior to IRF, her main assignments were as a Consultant at Korn/Ferry International and as Executive Director for a number of international medical organisations. In these positions she acquired extensive experience working with Executive and Advisory Boards. She also served on a number of international expert panels at intergovernmental organisations. Ms. Rupprecht holds a Federal Diploma of Commerce in Banking, Business School St. Gallen, Switzerland, postgraduate diploma in NPO management from the University of Fribourg and an Executive Certificate in Advocacy from the University of Geneva.
“We’re very pleased to welcome Sibylle Rupprecht to Catalyst Europe. As a business leader in Europe and internationally, she brings to her Catalyst role a remarkable depth of knowledge and experience in both the public and private sectors that will be instrumental as we expand our community of corporate members committed to advancing women and priming the leadership pipeline in Europe,” said Deborah Gillis, Chief Operating Officer, Catalyst.
“I am very excited to join Catalyst Europe, particularly at such a critical time for Europe,” said Ms. Rupprecht. “With increased competition for talent, Catalyst is truly well poised with its unique offering of research, expertise and tools to work with its members so that they can benefit from the wealth of talented women who aspire to contribute and lead. Clearly, in today’s global economy, this is no longer a ‘women’s issue.’ It’s a business and economic imperative.”
