New York City, N.Y. (January 17, 2017)—Catalyst announced today the addition of two new board members: Julie Sweet, Group Chief Executive, North America, Accenture; and David Taylor, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, P&G. The appointments were unanimously approved by the Catalyst Board of Directors, which is chaired by Peter Voser, Chairman, ABB Ltd.
“We are excited to welcome David and Julie as our new board members. Catalyst will benefit greatly from their breadth and depth of experience as the organization continues to achieve its mission of advancing women in leadership,” said Voser. “Their global corporate knowledge and passion in their own fields also brings a much-valued combination to address the needs of all Catalyst supporters.”
Taylor is a proven leader with 35 years of experience across many of P&G’s core categories and markets. He and P&G’s leadership team are driving the transformation of P&G to return the company to sustainable, balanced growth and value creation. Prior to becoming CEO, Taylor was Group President of P&G’s Global Beauty, Grooming, and Health Care sectors with a portfolio of leading brands such as Crest, Oral-B, Head & Shoulders, Olay, Pantene, SK-II, Gillette, Fusion, Mach 3, and Vicks. He also led P&G’s Family Care and Home Care businesses. Taylor graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in electrical engineering.
One of Fortune’s 2016 Most Powerful Women, Sweet leads Accenture’s business in its largest geographic market, which generated nearly $16 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2016. Since assuming the role in June 2015, Sweet has focused on driving digital transformation for both the company and its clients in North America. She is deeply committed to inclusion and diversity, and under her leadership, Accenture became the first professional services company to publish the demographics of its U.S. workforce. A member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee, Sweet joined the company in 2010 as general counsel, secretary and chief compliance officer after 17 years at law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore. She holds a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and a juris doctor degree from Columbia Law School.
“We are thrilled to announce David and Julie as new board members,” said Deborah Gillis, President and CEO, Catalyst. “They’re both innovators and visionaries—in business and at their respective companies—who are dedicated to advancing women in leadership. Their insights will be invaluable to Catalyst and our strategic efforts to accelerate progress for women through workplace inclusion.”
