Purpose of this Privacy Notice
This Privacy Notice is to help you understand what information we, as a Data Controller, collect, why we collect it, and how you can manage your information when you apply or nominate a company to receive a Catalyst Award.
Who we are
We are Catalyst, a global non-profit, charitable organization, supported by many of the world’s most powerful CEOs and leading companies (“Supporters”) learn how to advance diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, building better workplaces for all. One way we do this is by using our research findings to create reports, presentations, and products that help organizations build equitable workplaces. You can read more about us here.
The Catalyst Award annually honors innovative organizational initiatives that have proven results addressing the recruitment, development, and advancement of women across other dimensions of diversity.

Personal data we collect
Most of the personal information we collect, and process is provided directly by you. This includes the following:
First name
Last name
Email address
Name of Company
Telephone number
Company postal address
We also receive personal information, together with company information, indirectly via the Catalyst Award Nomination form.
How we will use your data
We use personal information for the following purposes:
Our lawful basis for processing the personal information is Article 6(1)(f) as it is necessary for Catalyst’s legitimate interests. If we hold personal data about you elsewhere in our systems, the legal basis we rely on may be different.
What will happen if you do not provide this data
If you do not provide Catalyst with the data, you will not be able to nominate your suggestions, and we will not be able to consider your nominees or application
Data Retention
We will retain all nominations for record keeping and reference for future evaluations by the Catalyst Evaluation Committee. Personal information will be removed where possible to de-identify the information.
Data Transfers
Personal information is held on Catalyst’s IT infrastructure and stored in the United States of America, where it is subject to equivalent legal protection through the use of Data Protection Agreements which include Standard Contractual Clauses.

If you wish to confirm that Catalyst is processing your personal data, or to have access to the personal data Catalyst may have about you, please contact us at [email protected].
You may also request information about: the purpose of the processing; the categories of personal data concerned; who else outside Catalyst might have received the data from Catalyst; what the source of the information was (if you didn’t provide it directly to Catalyst); and how long it will be stored. You have a right to correct (rectify) the record of your personal data maintained by Catalyst if it is inaccurate. You may request that Catalyst erase that data or cease processing it, subject to certain exceptions. You may also request that Catalyst cease using your data for direct marketing purposes. In many countries, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate data protection authority if you have concerns about how Catalyst processes your personal data. When technically feasible, Catalyst will—at your request—provide your personal data to you or transmit it directly to another controller.
You may, at no cost to you, receive a report of most of the personal data Catalyst has regarding you by emailing [email protected]. If access cannot be provided within a reasonable time frame, Catalyst will provide you with a date when the information will be provided. If for some reason access is denied, Catalyst will provide an explanation as to why access has been denied.
