A 2020 study found that while women overall comprise 28.8% of the US tech workforce, Latine women hold a mere 2% of jobs in STEM. This abysmal statistic disproves the argument of meritocracy in technology. Companies that prioritize diversifying their teams by recruiting Latine Women will see growth in innovation and product development.
