A Message From Catalyst
Affirmative action in college admissions drives diversity by expanding opportunities to historically marginalized groups and helps ensure that college communities reflect society. The US Supreme Court’s decision ending race-conscious affirmative action in college admissions will have a ripple effect on the workplace: It will shrink the diverse talent pool for hiring, advancement, and leadership, and it could set a precedent for challenges to workplace diversity initiatives.
At Catalyst, we believe that all workplaces must be diverse, inclusive, and equitable. This decision does not change our commitment to those values and motivates us to keep going. We will continue to raise our voice and elevate research and resources to help the Catalyst community create and sustain diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplaces that work for everyone.
Workforces that reflect the full humanity of society are good for business and good for everyone. The mission to create more equitable workplaces—and a more equitable world—is a long game. It is now more urgent than ever.
