The Catalyst Member Benchmarking Report has been distributed since 2001. It is designed to supplement the Catalyst Census of Women Board Directors of the Fortune 500 and the Catalyst Census of Women Corporate Officers and Top Earners of the Fortune 500 by providing benchmark data on the diversity of executive and pipeline levels that are not publicly available.
The 2009 Catalyst Member Benchmarking Report focuses on organizational practices that support women’s career advancement, examining the presence and effectiveness of career development and advancement programs, assignments, and opportunities. The report also tracks workforce representation and attrition data by gender, race/ethnicity (for the United States and Canada only), and organizational level for five global regions: Asia (including Japan), Canada, Europe, Japan, and the United States.
In addition to the report, members of Catalyst and Japan Women’s Innovative Network (J-Win) that completed the Catalyst Member Benchmarking survey receive online access to the password-protected Catalyst Member Benchmarking Tool, through which they can compare their survey responses to those of all participants, those within specific geographies, industry peers, Catalyst Award winners, and J-Win members. They can also use the tool to view workforce data on representation and attrition analyzed by global region (Asia, Canada, Europe, Japan, and the United States), organizational level, race, and ethnicity, and they can download additional Diversity & Inclusion Practices.
One hundred and eighty-one organizations completed the survey in 2009.
