Everyday sexism exists in workplaces worldwide. While companies must address this harmful reality through proper policies and practices, men—especially those who enjoy higher levels of power and privilege in the workplace and beyond—can help reduce sexism by actively interrupting it in the moment. But what factors influence men’s responses?
Catalyst’s Interrupting Sexism research series sheds light on the important role organizations play. While men’s individual awareness, beliefs, and commitment are central to their intent to directly confront sexism, unhealthy organizational environments can drive men to do nothing or refrain from addressing problematic behavior.
