Talking about our differences is difficult. Discussing how some aspects of your identities differ from other people’s—and ways you may experience privilege and disadvantage—can feel uncomfortable, accusatory, and potentially threatening. In the workplace, people often struggle with how or even whether to raise these issues. While you may have good intentions, you may not know how to start a conversation or address a sometimes uncomfortable topic. To effectively communicate across differences and build inclusive workplaces, openness and the ability to have difficult conversations are needed.
Listen to this webinar recording to hear insights from Catalyst’s new tool, Engaging in Conversations About Gender, Race, and Ethnicity. We specifically explore roadblocks that stifle difficult conversations and discuss actions you can take to start doing things differently now.
